DIY Earth Day Clay Soap Recipe

Let's clean the Earth starting with DIY clay soaps made by you!

Celebrate this Earth Day (and any day) with homemade clay soaps.

Life of the Party Products Needed:

Items From Around Your House:

  • Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle
  • Microwave safe measuring cup
  • Spoon or fork to mix
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

 Directions:

  1. Measure and melt soap in microwave or double boiler according to directions on package.
  2. Add fragrance until desired scent is achieved.
  3. Add clay mixture in small quantities (1/8 of teaspoon at a time if you are making a loaf or several bars at once) and mix well. Adding too much clay at one time can cause the soap to harden quickly so this step is important.  (HINT: using a fork instead of a spoon helps break up any clumps formed by the clay powder)
  4. At this point if you determine you would like more colorant, add color one drop at a time till desired color is achieved.
  5. Pour soap into mold and spray any bubbles away with alcohol
  6. If you are adding dried flowers or herbs, sprinkle immediately and lightly on top while soap is still wet.

Have fun! We'd love to see your finished creations. Tag us on Instagram at @life.of.the.party.soap
