Life of the Party Products Needed:

Items From Around Your House:

  • Large microwave-safe measuring cups
  • Plastic spoon
  • Knife
  • Alcohol in spray bottle
  • Kitchen scale (optional)

Follow these steps to create the heart-shaped glycerin soap bars, and then place them into the white loaf.

Part One -

  1. Cut 8 oz. soap base along scored lines to make cubes. Each heart is approximately 2 oz. Put cubes into a microwave-safe measuring cup and melt according to directions on soap label.
  2. Once melted, add fragrance to your preference. We recommend 1 to 6 drop per ounce. Mix well.
  3. Add red color one drop at a time, especially if desired effect is a transparent bar.
  4. Let set until hardened and cool to the touch. Mold can be placed in the refrigerator to speed cooling, but let sit for a few minutes before moving to avoid wrinkles in the soap.
  5. Once the hearts are fully cooled, release from the mold by applying constant, even pressure with the thumbs to the backside of the mold.

Part Two -

  1. Cut roughly 11 oz. of white soap into cubes. Place about 8 oz. in one measuring cup and 3 oz. in another.
  2. Melt the 8 oz. cup of soap according to directions on soap label. Once melted, add fragrance and mix well.
  3. Pour into the white loaf mold.
  4. Melt the remaining 3 oz. according to the directions on the soap label. Once melted, add fragrance. Slowly add drops of red color until a pink color is achieved.
  5. Pour the pink soap into the loaf mold in a swirling motion and use a plastic spoon to gently swirl until you get the desired effect. Don't swirl too much or soap will blend together.
  6. Let set for 10 minutes until there is a strong film on top but the soap is still warm. Spritz the soap surface with alcohol and gently place 3 of the glycerin heart soaps into the loaf.
  7. Melt an additional 2 oz. of white soap, add fragrance and optional poppy seeds. Carefully pour around the hearts until the soap rises to half the height of the heart. This gives a 3D effect to the heart.
  8. Sprinkle a pinch of crushed rose petals on the white soap, taking care to avoid the pink hearts.
  9. Let set until cooled and hardened.
  10. Remove from mold by disassembling it according to instructions on packaging.
  11. Cut the soap into three bars, each with the heart centered in the middle.
  12. Wrap with cling wrap to preserve the freshness.

Note: There is enough white soap to make this project two times with additional clear soap left over for extra hearts, or to use on another project.
